Until recent decades, people often quoted, “The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.” We have lost sight of the real power of a mother. Actually, the hand that rocks the cradle IS THE MOST POWERFUL HAND IN THE WORLD. Most people don’t know where the slogan originated. It is from a 19th Century poem. Enjoy! It is powerful.

BLESSINGS on the hand of women!

Angels guard its strength and grace.

In the palace, cottage, hovel,

Infancy’s the tender fountain,

Power may with beauty flow,

        1. Good comments, Susanne. Sadly, that lie has been spread for decades with astonishing success.

          A mother’s work is the greatest of all, because it is an expression of love, ultimately God’s love through her. Consider an illustration. Watch a dad change a baby’s diaper. He’ll just about gag and nearly pass out, because his focus is on the chore and the associated odor. Now, watch a mother change the baby’s diaper. She’s smiling at the baby. Both are gurgling, cooing, and making faces. Mom is bonding with the baby and celebrating new life. Her efforts are an expression of love, She barely notices the odor.

          While dad is often focusing on self, mom is focusing on others, i.e. the baby. Spiritually, the mother is growing; the father at best is treading water. Of course, not all parents behave according to this illustration, but it’s typical. Nevertheless, love is far more important, more powerful, and lasts far longer than mere money. What do YOU think? How do we get people to reawaken to what should be abundantly obvious?

          1. Your comment made me laugh out loud, Lloyd, because your description of the difference between moms and dads really hit the nail smack on its head! XD

            And indeed, love is the only thing that counts at the end of day, i.e., when we die and are faced with our Creator. Love is eternal. Everything else we might have achieved here on earth perishes like all things we now see with our own eyes.

            As for your question about how to awaken people to the truth, I believe there is no easy answer. Lately I felt that God nudged me to listen to anything – what I have thought to be complete nonsense – without interfering by adding my two cents of “knowing it better.” It is like you said before, love is all that counts. Loving others unconditionally will finally help them to open up their hearts and minds toward us and they will honestly tell us what bothers them deep inside. On our side, patience is needed until God intervenes and saves those around us who still live in the darkness.

            1. That’s right, Susanne. Love IS eternal. So often we run out of money before we run out of month. Love gets us through the last few days until the next check arrives. God’s love is dependable; money is not. It’s up to us to be open conduits of God’s love to others.

              Actually, my book was designed to wake up the slumbering body of believers. It’s getting closer to publication. Note in the navigation pane to the left of this screen that the number of strong endorsements is increasing. To date, the book has attracted 17 highly enthusiastic endorsements. At least seven of them are from people widely recognized in the U.S.
